Even the faded flower denies nothingness.

About This Quote

Even the faded flower denies nothingness. The power of denial is something that is very powerful. Sometimes it is more than just denying the truth, but it is also denying the existence of something so strongly that people can’t even see it or know it exists at all. For instance, I was talking to someone about one of our friends who had recently died and they were talking about how horrible it was for them.

I asked them if they ever thought about how their friend would feel about the death of his own daughter. They didn’t understand what I was saying at all. They just couldn’t see how he could possibly be able to think of himself as not existing if his daughter had died.

This denial on their part was so strong that they couldn’t even conceive that the person may have felt that way.
